LBFE/Muttville Cuddle Club
Each month LBFE partner with Muttville Senior Dog Rescue to host an hour-long cuddle club where older adults and volunteers can sit and snuggle with some of their senior dogs at their headquarters in the Mission. This is an invite only event.

2026 Volunteer Appreciation Event
This is our annual Volunteer Appreciation Event, where volunteers are invited to come together to celebrate their impact, connect with fellow volunteers, and enjoy a well-deserved evening of fun. It’s a night dedicated to connection and celebration.
This special gathering is our way of expressing gratitude for the compassion, dedication, and time our incredible volunteers give to reduce isolation and loneliness among older adults.

An in-person event, celebrating community and participation in Creativity Connects. Participants will have an opportunity to showcase the projects that they have been working on or share a little about their experience in the program.

Virtual Volunteer Education Session: Understanding Alzheimer’s & Dementia
The Alzheimer’s Association has partnered with LBFE to offer a special virtual volunteer education session via Zoom on Thursday, February 5th from 5:00–6:00 PM!
This engaging session will break down what Alzheimer’s disease is and isn’t, while covering key differences between Alzheimer’s and dementia, common stages and risk factors, current research and treatments, and helpful caregiver resources.
Our guest speaker, Jasmine Rathor, Community Educator with the Alzheimer’s Association Northern California Chapter, brings both professional expertise and lived caregiving experience to this important conversation.
This session is open to all LBFE volunteers and is a great opportunity to build confidence and deepen your understanding.

Sutter Health Workshop: “Aging Well: Understanding Advance Care Directives"
This workshop will offer valuable insights on how to prepare for end of life care, including legal aspects and questions to consider as we make decisions about our healthcare preferences.
